NSCDC deploys 725 personnel to enforce sit-at-home order in Ekiti, Edo, Oyo

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ekiti State Command, has deployed 250 emergency response personnel across the state as part of measures to contain the spread of the Coronavirus.

The NSCDC Commandant in the state, Mr. Solomon Iyamu, disclosed this in a statement by the command’s spokesman, Tolulope Afolabi, in Ado-Ekiti yesterday.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Iyamu said that the personnel would be drawn from the crisis management department, including disaster and medical units.

He said that the personnel would work in collaboration with the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and Humanitarian Task Force for the purpose of surveillance, enforcement and response.

Iyamu, therefore, urged the public to heed the advice and directives of the Federal Ministry of Health, spiritual and community leaders.

Similarly, the Edo State Command of the NSCDC yesterday said that it had deployed 250 personnel to curtail the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the state.

The state Commandant of the Corps, Mr. Makinde Ayinla, disclosed this in Benin while briefing newsmen on measures put in place by the command in curtailing the pandemic.

Ayinla also said that the measures were in line with the Commandant-General’s directive.

In the same vein, the NSCDC, Oyo State Command, has deployed 255 of its personnel to work with National Centre Disease Control (NCDC) for humanitarian service and to ensure total compliance with the government directives.

The state Commandant of the NSCDC, Alhaji Iskilu Akinsanya, who disclosed this in Ibadan, said that the corps would ensure that people comply with all the preventive measures to make the state safe from the pandemic.
